What Is A Course in Miracles?

Since January 1st of this year I’ve been on a guided tour of the new Complete and Annotated (CE) Edition of A Course in Miracles with its editor Robert Perry. We follow a reading schedule created by Robert that completes the Text in 12 months, taking a short section and reflecting on its main messages each and every day.

Having been a Course student for many years, I already knew this was a powerful spiritual path, but my correspondence with Robert has unlocked something entirely new. Passages from the Text that I’ve always been tempted to skip or gloss over have suddenly gained a new depth – and sometimes even a new meaning – I hadn’t considered before.

This process has been such a gift that I want you to have access to it as well.

Course Companions is an online journey through the Text of the Complete and Annotated (CE) Edition of this spiritual classic. While the format of the program will change and evolve depending on your input, here are the basics:

  1. First, please join the Course Companions Facebook group and you’ll receive access to the daily ACIM Reading Schedule.
  2. Also, by joining our group, you’ll have access to members-only Facebook live chats that provide commentary on the scheduled reading plus a real-time forum for any questions you have while going through the material.
  3. In addition, you’ll also receive a weekly series of reflection questions that provide a helpful structure for both individual and ACIM study group use.

Whether you’re a student struggling with the Course and tired of “going it alone”, a study group leader looking for class resources, or you’re just curious what this path is all about, I hope you’ll join us. My vision for our time together is to provide you with the structure and support needed to explore the guiding concepts within this extraordinary spiritual classic – and to have a lot of fun along the way.

What is A Course In Miracles?
Although A Course in Miracles can be endlessly unpacked, it is first and foremost, as the title suggests: a course. Within its pages students will find a complete curriculum of spiritual growth and healing that occurs when fear-based thinking is exchanged for holy love. This shift in perspective – and the behavioral expressions of love that inevitably follows – comprise the “miracle” that gives the book its name.

What denomination is the Course?
None. The Course speaks of Jesus and uses some traditional Christian language, but its message is universal and can be applied regardless of one’s formal beliefs.

Is there a cost to being in the group?

I’ve never read A Course in Miracles. Will I be lost?
Not at all. Beginning and advanced students alike will benefit from the content (and community) this group offers.

Can I start anytime?
Yep. You can start anytime and go at your own pace.

How much time will this take?
The amount of time you spend studying the Course is completely up to you, however, a good rule of thumb is to spend at least 10-15 minutes each day reading the Text.

Any special system requirements?
No special requirements other than solid internet access. You can watch / listen on any laptop, desktop computer, iPhone, iPad, etc.

Where can I buy the Complete and Annotated (CE) Edition of A Course in Miracles?
You can order on Amazon here.

What if I already have the Foundation for Inner Peace (FIP) version of A Course in Miracles? Can I use that?
Unfortunately, no. Particularly within these first five chapters, there’s just too much new material in the CE to make these two editions compatible.
